Home loan disruptor Athena has been announced as the winner of the Emerging FinTech Organisation of the Year Award at the 2019 Finnies in Melbourne overnight.
The Finnies Awards champion and recognise innovative approaches to Australian fintech, business excellence and collaboration as well as celebrate thought leaders within the fintech ecosystem.
Nathan Walsh, CEO and co-founder and Michael Starkey, COO and co-founder of Athena both said that it’s incredibly humbling to win such an Award so early in their journey.
“We are so proud of the team we have built and the mark we have made on the home loan sector in such a short time.
“Our customers are loving being with a genuine home loan provider who is helping them pay off their home loan faster, and the icing on the cake is to also be recognised by the industry as well.”
FinTech Australia General Manager, Rebecca Schot-Guppy said, “The judges have commended the calibre of entries this year. All the finalists on the list are truly deserving as the competition was tough. We believe this finalist list alone showcases the breadth and depth of innovation across the sector. It also sets the scene for what we believe will be our best Finnies event-to-date,”.
There were a total 237 submissions this year across 19 categories.
